LEICA MOTOR M (Click for more info)
From zero to three pictures in one second - the LEICA MOTOR M In professional
photography, there are numerous occasions where a rapid succession of exposures
with minimally changed settings is very desirable, without taking the camera
away from your eye. Thats the reason why a compact and quiet motor was
designed which is activated by the cameras shutter release button, and is
capable of producing picture sequences of up to 3 images per second. The
combination of camera, motor and lens forms a well-balanced unit with extremely
pleasant handling characteristics. The motorized film advance provides the
photographer with a choice of two speeds: 1.5 and 3 shots per second. The
slower mode permits notice-ably more quiet and thus less conspicuous
photographing.
LEICA
VIEWFINDER for 21/24/28 mm lenses (Click for more info)
The new LEICA VIEWFINDER for 21/24/28 mm lenses combines perfect optical performance
with practical handling, as the selection of the framing for all three focal
lengths can be carried out without changing the viewfinder. The robust
all-metal construction will stand up to the hardest professional use. The
classic round design harmonises perfectly with the LEICA M system.
LEICA
SF 20 TTL-flash (Click for more info)
The compact and lightweight LEICA SF 20 allows TTL-flash
exposure control with the LEICA M6 TTL-models as well as the LEICA R8 plus
automatic flash exposure control with all other LEICA M and R cameras with
central X hot-shoe contact. All neccessary information such as film speed,
aperture and distance is available in the LCD which can be illuminated on
demand. Thanks to the two longlife Lithium batteries CR 123 a very compact
design, fast recharging times, and a high number of flashes could be realized.
In the TTL- and A-modes the flash indicator in the viewfinders of the LEICA M6
TTL-models and the LEICA R8 enables the photographer to check the correct flash
exposure immediately.
New
Leica M6 TTL (Click for more info)
Now successful for many years, the LEICA M6 has been improved by a new important technical
feature: Flash photography with the LEICA M6 TTL-models will now be more
reliable and convenient yet. The new LEICA SF20 and all dedicated flash
units in the SCA-3000 System can be used in combination with the adapter
SCA 3501. A flash symbol in the viewfinder signals flash readiness and
sufficient flash exposure. A further improvement long desired for, is the
inverted setting direction of the shutter speed dial. In addition, this
dial has been enlarged and is now much easier to handle. When setting the
correct exposure, both the aperture ring and the shutter speed dial can now
be turned in the direction the triangular LEDs indicate. In order to facilitate
absolutely precise exposure setting, a round LED was added between the two
triangular LEDs. All these improvements were integrated by increasing the
height of the top plate by a mere 2 mm.
The advantages of the LEICA M6 TTL-models:
TTL-flash metering New, enlarged shutter
speed dial with inverted setting direction Off-Position on shutter speed
dial to turn off the electronics New viewfinder displays: round LED for
correct exposure, flash symbol for flash readiness etc. These new models
will replace the previous versions of the LEICA M6.

TRI-ELMAR-M 28-35-50 mm f/4 ASPH. (Click for more info)
Fine-tuned for universal applications the LEICA TRI-ELMAR-M 28-35-50 mm f/4 ASPH.
As a new, yet not so new lens (the first series was already introduced in 1998)
the LEICA TRI-ELMAR-M 28-35-50 mm f/4 ASPH. lens of the 2000 vintage retains
all the strengths of the old LEICA TRI-ELMAR while featuring
completely redesigned mechanical components. The proven optical system of eight
elements in six groups was retained and complemented by newly re-fined
mechanical details: the click stops on the focal length selector ring were
improved, a concave finger grip was added on the focusing ring, the depth of
field scale shows the range of sharpness for all three focal lengths and the
reduction of the filter diameter permits a better view through the viewfinder.
For the first time, the use of a polarizing filter is now possible by means of
the accessory adapter for polarizing filter E 67/E 49 and an E 67 polarizing
filter. This will enable you to achieve even richer colors and reflections can
be effectively reduced.

New from Hasselblad
XPAN Technical Description & Specifications
The Hasselblad XPan is a new camera model
developed by Hasselblad in cooperation with Fuji Photo Film Co. Ltd. It
provides a dual-format facility without the need to change film. It uses
35mm size film to produce the standard 24 x 36 mm format as well as 24 x 65 mm
panorama format. This full panorama format camera - there is no masking of
the film to achieve a panorama effect - produces a width equivalent to the
medium format, with all the inherent picture quality. The Hasselblad name
ensures the superb quality throughout for this innovative new model in an
expanding branch of the Hasselblad system. The camera body is robustly
built from aluminum and titanium for professional level use and is partly
clad in synthetic rubber for an ergonomic grip. Weighing only around 950 g
with the 45 mm lens and being the size of a 35mm camera, it sits comfortably in
the hand. The host of automatic features also reinforces the 35mm feel of
handling though the manual override ensures professional demands for 100%
control.
Viewing and focusing are by way of bright-frame viewfinder
and coupled rangefinder.Viewfinder information is adjusted automatically
according to the focal length of lens as well as an automatic parallax
adjustment for close shots. No accessories or manual adjustments are
necessary, so changing lenses is rapid and trouble-free.
Two lenses are available - the Hasselblad 4/45 mm and the Hasselblad 4/90 mm. Both have
been specifically formulated for this new development and have been
designed to the latest in lens construction and technology. The metallic
casing is finished in black and houses the multi-coated elements (8 and 9
resp.) producing top of the range performance in resolution and contrast.
The lenses are designed with the covering power of medium format lenses - the
panorama format exceeds the width of 6x6 cm - and they are remarkably
light and compact for such demands. They have rear bayonet fittings for
camera attachment and front bayonet fittings for lens shade attachment.
The aperture range is f/4 - f/22 in half stops with both lenses.
